The purpose of the Orange County American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers course is to teach those with a duty to act (professional rescuers and health care providers) the knowledge and skills needed to respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies. This includes the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to care for a victim experiencing cardiac arrest.

COURSE FEE
$85.00 (Participant is responsible for bringing his or her own breathing barrier. Breathing barriers can be purchased on site for a $20.00 fee)
Criteria for Course Completion & Certification
To complete the course successfully, the participant must:
- Attend the entire course.
- Participate in all skill sessions and scenarios.
- Demonstrate competency in all required skills and scenarios.
- Pass the final written exam with a minimum grade of 80 percent (20 correct answers out of 25 questions).
General Information
Please dress comfortably as we will be on the ground demonstrating skills. Feel free to bring snacks and a drink to help keep you alert. There is complimentary coffee and water on site, and a refrigerator available for your use,
Prior to your course, please be sure to visit the link below and download a copy of the manual for the class. If you don’t wish to print the manual, you can bring it on a tablet or computer. If you do not have a way to access the course, please let us know in advance so we can organize a copy of the manual for your use. Other than the manual below, you will also need to come with a CPR Pro Rescuer Mask. If you do not come prepared with the mask, we will have to sell one to you for $20.00.

It can be confusing to find the classroom so please leave ample time to avoid any issues. To get to the classroom which is held upstairs in the Emerald Bay Fire House, you will go through a guard gate. Once past the guard gate you will make a right at the stop sign and head down the hill. Once at the bottom of the hill make your first right in front of the firehouse. Park on the right hand side in front of Swanson Park, and walk back to the Fire House. COURSE TRANSFER/CANCELLATION FEE
There is a $25 cancellation/transfer fee for all Health and Safety Classes. For courses cancelled less than 48 hours before the course offering, there will be no refunds.
